Our text this semester will be Electrical Engineering Principles and Applications (4th Ed.) by Allan R. Hambley. It's a pretty big book ,but we will not be covering all the chapters! For those of you going in to engineering, this is a good starting place and introduction to electrical systems. For the rest of you, I think it will make a good reference book after you finish the class, as well as a good text for the class. If you click on the link in the toolbar, you will find the homework assignments, as well as solutions to the assignments (they won't be posted until AFTER the assignments are turned in of course!!)

Examples: Occasionally, I will post different examples of the types of problems you will find in homework, class, and tests here. Please use this resource. Who knows when some of these exact same problems may just POP up again!!

Laboratory: Since this is a science course, there is of course a lab associated with the course! How is anyone expected to learn science without doing science!?!?!? Well, if you click on the icon, you will see a schedule of the courses labs. I hope you find them as fun and informative as I do!! Click here to get the laboratory exercises throughout the course of the semester. You should get a 3 ring binder to hold the handouts and exercises.

Attendance: You are expected to attend every class period. For unforeseen circumstances, each student will be allowed three (3) unexcused absences.

Excused absences are limited to University-Sanctioned Events (which follow the Excused Absence Policy for University-Sanctioned Events as described in the West Chester University Undergraduate Catalog), and absences due to serious illness or injury (verified by a practicing MD, you must provide me with a phone number), or the death of family members (also to be verified.)

Grading: The grading for the course is as follows:

3 Exams (15%@) 45%
Cumulative Final 20%

Homework

17%

Labs

18%
