What is a PASSPORT?
For Music Education
students, the PASSPORT contains the documentation that allows you to observe
and student teach in Pennsylvania public schools, as assigned by the Coordinator
of Student Teaching and Field Experiences. The PASSPORT should be a professional-style
folio (such as a folder embossed in gold bearing the WCU emblem).
Exactly what documentation
does the PASSPORT contain?
The PASSPORT documentation
must include original copies of the following:

PA State
Police Clearance
-
PA Child Abuse Clearance
-
Negative TB test Certification
-
CPR Certification (for
MUE 332)
When do I need to present
my PASSPORT?
Your PASSPORT documentation
MUST be presented on the first day of MUE 331 and MUE 332
Your PASSPORT MUST
be in your possession to be presented upon request at all Field Experience observations.
Your PASSPORT MUST
be in your possession to be presented upon request at all Student Teaching placements.
Do I ever need to re-apply
for new clearances?
All clearances expire
after one year. It is the student's responsibility to maintain current clearances
by reapplying for updated clearances approximately 6 weeks BEFORE their clearances
expire.
