Between 1996 and 1999, Jim Jones and students at West Chester University digitized the information in three large, handwritten volumes of the Chester County (Pennsylvania) Register of Deaths (1893-1907). Besides being in poor shape, the original volumes listed the deaths in the order that the information reached the county seat. To make it easy to locate individuals, Jones organized the entries into alphabetical order by last and first names, and placed the results on a series of web pages linked to this page. Several students also conducted research using the resulting database, and links to their findings appear below as well.
