This is the first of a series of similar reports, each of which describes the state of construction of the following items:

  1. Surveys (completed as far as Tambacounda, as of the date of this report)
  2. Wells
  3. Water lines (completed to kilometer 276.168)
  4. Permanent water lines ("Les aqueducs en buses sont mis en place jusqu'au kilometer 272.450")
  5. Clearing of brush (completed to kilometer 281)
  6. Grading of the right-of-way (completed to kilometer 276.840)
  7. Track-laying (completed to kilometer 268.6)
  8. Track ballasting (completed to kilometer 190.75, underway to kilometer 207)
  9. Construction of railroad stations (the report lists specific gares and the state of construction at each one)
  10. Stone-cutting (This describes the number of stone pieces made for topping walls, edging sidewalks, etc.)
  11. Pipe-making
  12. Extraction of gravel for track ballast
