This report underlines the importance of the railroad as a supply line to the military. Even though Kita and Bafoulabé had no direct contact with enemies, it was necessary to maintain military garrisons in those towns to prevent any disruption of the resupply line.

The report also recommended the maintainance of the old resupply route between Kita and Nafadie as well as the new one, because the old route had larger villages along it, which could supply more food, and the surface was less scored by wagon wheels, so troops could march faster along it.
