Requirements for the Group Project
I am going to require that your project do several things, which are
listed below. These requirements are designed to guarantee that your project
synthesizes your previous research into an interesting site and takes advantage
of the potential of hypertext. There's still plenty of room for innovation,
originality, and imagination!
Your webpages must include . . .
-
At least 2000 words of original text from each contributor. If elements
from different authors are synthesized into one section, be sure to sign
the contributions.
-
At least one introductory or overview page created in collaboration
by group members. This page should offer the rationale for your group
site and introduce its different elements. It must also include a
map, table, or list of contents to the site. Other group-authored
pages (linking related sections or ideas) are strongly recommended.
-
Internal hypertext links among different sections. A well-designed
site will provide interesting, surprising, or imaginative associations
among its many parts.
-
External hypertext links to related materials. At the very
least, you should include links to any references you adapt from your original
papers. (NOTE: No external links may violate WCU's web policy.)
-
Images, sound, or video where appropriate. (NOTE:
All materials must comply with copyright laws. Here, too, the site
must be in accordance with WCU web policy.)
-
The links to our class projects page and syllabus, which I will provide
you.
If any of these requirements become a problem, I am willing to listen to
your argument for revising one or two. But you must be responsible
for getting my approval beforehand for any deviation from these basic requirements,
or the project will be downgraded.
