Negatives of educating with computers

by: jessy norman

Technology is changing at a fast rate, and schools across the country are hardy on top of the issue. Other countries around the world are paying little attention to this demand of computers and focusing on other important aspects with in the classroom. The ability of the person standing in front on the room is more important then the machine in the room. What we can gather from this site is mainly that, the teachers standing in front of the room , 75% of the time do not have the knowledge to even teach about these machines. The problem then lies in the educating of teachers, which is the substantial reasoning as to why Internet services are not launching off in classrooms across the U.S. In Courtney Strohm's essay, she talks about how behaviors have been discovered that may even turn people away from wanting their kids to use the Internet. She talked about sites on issues dealing with bigotry, articles about guns, bombs, and other implements about violence. Do parents and teacher really want their children viewing these types of things? Although, someday these teachers and students will be using this knowledge, so the education process for this technology must be taken care of.
